Again thanks to instagram, I managed to get in touch with this great band from Greece, who just released their surprising debut album L ‘Origine Du Monde this November 20, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised to find this interesting mix of posts metal and experimental progressive rock, with the vibes of the wonderful Brutus and the progression of Julie Christmas‘s ex-band, Battle of Mice.
The songs feel like deep reflections between emotionally powerful and aching sensations. In general, the album is a mixture of post metal with alternative aesthetics with enough complexity and dynamics strongly linked to the voices and interpretations of Demetria Kv, which are phenomenal; a sublime voice that varies between ethereal verses and choruses, up to truly expressive and expansive moments.
Songs like Les Fleurs de la Vanité, Remmants of the World, Wretched Man, Plague of Corruption clearly prove the band’s compositional intentions, which rely on the strength of the instruments and Demetria’s guidance, covering themselves with complex experimental landscapes, where precisely the subtleties and arrangements make this work remarkable, creating an appropriate atmosphere for all the gray message that the band wants to convey.
L ‘Origine du Monde is definitely a great and auspicious debut, one that must be listened with patience for a rewarding experience; therefore it remains to support it, so that the band, from this first stone, will achieve in the future the sound they seek and manage to establish themselves the way they deserve it.
